Default a shot into the ground

I would like to be able to shoot into the ground. What is it good for? Testing your weapon, range. No. It will trigger a trap or it will alert a hidden creature and make it attack.
Who: anybody with ranged attack. The better you are, the more change for succes.
Why? I'm getting tired of being harrased by groups of creatures which suddenly appear. The gimmick is ok, but it is enough for 1 or 2 areas.
Also traps you hit randomly. Anybody killed by it? You take the damage and wait for your healthbar to be full again or you wait for the trap to trigger itself. It is just dead-playtime.
